Information on Spreadsheets

2004 Democratic Presidential Primary
The spreadsheets are in Microsoft Excel format (Mac/PC) and are compatible with the '97 through present versions. The following worksheets are included in each file:
  • Candidates - candidate names
  • National Summary - summarizes vote totals by state for each candidate - with boundary file information (fips)
  • Data by County - data for all counties of all states plus DC (totals for territories) - with boundary file information (fips)
  • Data by Town - data for New England towns (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH) - with boundary file information (fips) (no data for ME)
  • Data by Congressional District - data for most states by congressional district (no data available for: (AL, CO, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, NV, NJ, PA, TN, TX)
  • Graphs - pie charts for each state and national total.
  • Party - data sorted by strength at the state level for candidates.
  • Statistics - page of statistics includes closest states, max, min, counties, etc.
  • Data Sources - a list of data sources used to compile the spreadsheet.
2000 Democratic and Republican Presidential Primary
The spreadsheets are in Microsoft Excel format (Mac/PC) and are compatible with the '97 through present versions. The following worksheets are included in each file:

  • Data by Town - data for New England towns (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH) - with boundary file information (fips) (no data for ME)
  • Data by Congressional District - data for many states by congressional district (includes AZ (R only), AR, CA, CT, DE, FL, ID, IL part, ME, MD, MA, MI, MT, NH, NY, OH, RI SC (R only), SD, VT, VA (R only), WV, WI)
  • Graphs - pie charts for each state and national total.
