Macedonia, though I've really never thought about it.  I guess I still call it Yugoslavia on occasion, as I still mistakenly combine the Czech Republic and Slovakia "Czechoslovakia".

*facepalm*

Greeting from the People's Republic of Poland, btw.

The Yugoslavia one is understandable because it was still the name of Serbia and Montenegro until a few years ago, and the entire region is often referred to as "the former Yugoslavia" but Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since you were probably in elementary school.

...oh, and "Macedonia" even though "Fyrom" sounds cooler.

Macedonia.

I don't care about hurting Greece's feelings.

More like Southwestern, considering these regions, but not a bad idea Smiley. Would solve the name dispute, at least Wink.

I call it the Republic of Macedonia.  I've mentioned their consulate repeatedly.

It would be viewed as a territorial claim to much of western Bulgaria. Tongue

Not really. It would mean the Macedonians finally acknowledging the truth. Wink

LMAO@eRepublik right now. They've announced the introduction of new countries on the 6th (the day after the presidential elections for all current countries), including the Republic of Macedonia. Spelled that way. Well all the Greeks are outraged and many are threatening a massive walkout of eRepublik unless the name is changed. There's a news item with a couple hundred comments, most of which are just Greeks with anti-Macedonia avatars now spamming "MACEDONIA IS GREECE AND ONLY GREECE!"

I'm considering moving to Macedonia just so I can fight against the inevitable war of Greek aggression that will soon happen. Wishing I had moved to Serbia, they just kicked Croatia's ass. Smiley
