First off, I would like to welcome the members of this glorious Party to Atlanta for our Convention. It is great to have this assembly in the South once more and close to the home turf of our distinguished Vice Chairman, Senator and Chief of Staff, Leinad.

The task before us in this election is monumental, but as Federalists we are used not having the ability to benefit from sheer luck. No, as Federalists we have long had to climb steep cliffs and overcome incredible challenges to achieve victory and success. From our founding in the uncertainty of a party merger, to a severe division over reform between the leadership and base, to overcoming certain death and finally to being a leading presence in the 2015-2016 Con-Con. Our party doesn't shy away from the tough fights, we lead.

Last October, I took the difficult step of assuming the party's banner for the Presidential election. It was a campaign dominated with challenges too many to name and real life complications to boot and the end result was so bitter sweet. In agreeing to the Potomac agreement, we assured stability and through my one month tenure as President, I have championed the kind of dynamic engagement that if fully incorporated throughout Atlasia will truly enable us to succeed both with the bicameral system and as a game generally.

As Federalists, we must remain committed to ideas and to finding alternative methods. There are ways to pursue market based principles and regional rights, while still ensuring that people get the medical care they need and deserve. To ensuring we take care of those who are most in need of mental healthcare and of course. To restoring and growing our economy. The Federal gov't doesn't have to dictate it from above, it can be a collaboration between the regions and Federal Gov't. The President doesn't have to a unitary (literally) instrument but can operate as an active and engaged administration composed of dedicated advisers and supporting capacities that are more than just titles on a page. We can preserve the representation of regions and the people through their dedicated chambers while at the same time, ensuring that bills are getting passed and issues addressed in a timely fashion. It takes leadership, It takes imagination and it takes a cooperative dialogue.

I am fully confident that the Federalist Party will once again rise to that challenge. Welcome to Atlanta and I look forward to an exciting and fun convention.

Crap, new something was slipping by the wayside.

Are there any more non-fed endorsements wishing to be had before we proceed to a vote?

Also now would be a good time to make any speeches before the convention, both Federalist and non Federalist.

Members of the Federalist Party, I am going to make a proposal, though implementation will probably have to wait until after the elections simply because of time and other constraints.

Anyway, I am going to propose a bylaw amendment restructuring the party around three caucuses. I figure there will be one caucus for each leg of the stool: Social Conservatives, Libertarians and Moderates. Each would have a caucus restricted to just Federalists (I will get to why, next), but in exchange would be able to vote on electing caucus leaders who would form the platform committee and each convention submit a platform proposal to be adopted by the convention.

The caucuses would be promoted to new members as they joined and be used to encourage other people to join the game and party as well. As well as boosting membership among people of similar viewpoints, they could also play a role in the election of members to the People's House. Each caucus would select two candidates to prioritize and thereby help promote the election of as many like minded candidates and ultimately a Federalist Majority as a whole, through better organization and turnout among all three core groups within the party.

Finally, the Federalist House Conference will be revived and used to better organize the Federalist members of the House and boost both activity and participation on debating issues. The above mentioned caucuses would thus have influence since members would be present from all three caucuses in the Federalist House Conference.

Sections V and VI are new.

I made slight changes to the other sections to make them fit together more with those sections. I removed a clause from section VI on platform committees that would have conflicted, and made some other minor changes as well.

So much for choice! I'm surprised NAY's even an option on the ballot.

I gave open declaration periods. Don't you have your own party to undermine with your rogue actions or something? Tongue

Says the guy who wants the purge every single third party movement, oh except that one that we warned was dangerous for 2 years. They were fine as long as they were still voting for Laborites. Of course then they hitched a ride on a Laborite Administration and the end result was Bloody July. Tongue

Look, everyday I come on and it is new crisis and a new scandal. I had precisely 3 PMs in my inbox of, and none of them concerned any of the matters of concern that have been brought up in this thread over the past 48 hours, certainly none related to or from the President.

Look, I have done my damnedest to help the President since he took office. I have supported him on every matter or at the very least to deferred to him out of respect for the fact that he is the President. I have stated repeatedly that elected members should vote inline with the promises they made and that the President should also be given the room to honor the promises he made. As recently as Monday morning, I said that the Congressional delegation and the Senators should vote as they feel right and that not every item is going to get unanimous support with a diverse array of membership as we have.

But we have a situation forming here where we are losing both the critics of the President and the President. It is not an unfamiliar situation, but it is nevertheless a frustrating one to have two opposed factions arise and then depart from the party at the same time. Suddenly we are losing at both ends. Dfw ran a public campaign, he made promises, many of them were conservative some were more moderate.

One thing conservatives seem to love to do, is spend a lot of time deciding who is, and who is not, a member of their movement and then spend all their energies purging that blight from existence. Frankly, in all circumstances I have found this practice to be counterproductive and the greatest gift that the left has ever dreamed off. "But damn it, we fought for perfectionism". "We fought for 100% and even though it resulted in socialism winning and us getting 0%, we sure as hell didn't settle 95%". Ask yourself this, what is the difference between that mindset and openly voting for and endorsing said socialism? The practical result is the same in the end, you might as well. Purist demands for perfection to the point of defeat has been the greatest betrayal of conservatism the past 20 years has witnessed.

There has been this criticism of the Federalist Party and despite a whole knew slate of people, it is still prevalent and that is that there is the irresistible urge to eat its own. The fact that I have seen it now in two center-right parties, under 7 different Party Chairs, leads me to believe that is an inherent trait from RL.

It is not easy bringing conservatives, libertarians, and conservative leaning-moderates together under one roof. And there is always that one issue, that someone wants their own way on and if they don't get it, they go nuts, leave, quit whatever.

It is easy to say lets splinter. Well that happened once before. After the RPP dissolved, all the centrists coalesced into a center-left Party and no one could get close to winning the Presidency unless they were left or center-left. Dissolving, splintering, dividing has always been the easy out, but it is the path to ruin. Without the broad coalition and the mutual support that a party brings, the right quickly becomes irrelevant. I am not against third parties, I willingly supported center-right candidates because I thought a competitive race was more important then going down to a landslide defeat against say TNF. So it was natural for me make that call and I don't regret it. However, I have seen the downside of that two. When the opportunity presents itself they come to plot against each other, undermine each other, challenge each other, hampering united efforts in other races or providing the impetus/excuse for others to say "well screw them". And every time that happened, Labor and before them the JCP laughed all the way to the bank.

This is the internet, the natural state of things is a liberal leaning demographic. Perhaps in real life, you have the chance to convert people to your beliefs, but on here that chance is low and it is close quarters. Throwing yourself out on the altar of perfectionism, is only going to get you one thing, defeat because there is no "Conservative" majority as Classic Conservative would define it and there never has been.

Now that said there have been "governing majorities" for market based solutions, for regional empowerment, and for preserving our critical constitutional institutions that protect our freedom. We have been blessed lately, to have achieved more opportunities of this sort in the past year, than at any point in the previous TWELVE YEARS of Atlasia. Whether it was last year, or last month, or last week. Ask yourself what has stood in the way of success? What has prevented us from living up our potential? We have had plenty of petty disagreements blown way out of proportion over those issues of disagreement. We have had many people get angry because of failure to communicate or improper attempts at communication.

We have made enormous progress in my view. With the efforts of Goldwater, PiT and myself as well as many others in multiple parties, Congress is working again. That means the people have a voice. The Regions have a voice. That is an important step. That means that if you have an issue you can contact your Senators and your Representatives. You can get your desired bill to the floor, make the case for it, and if you get the votes you can pass it into law. We have sent more bills to the President in the past 3 weeks then in the past 3 months. Legislation has been signed to remove unnecessary military bases, to provide resources for research in to alternative energy vehicles, and alternative extraction methods to replace fracking. Legislation has been passed to secure our borders and provide a humane solution for those here illegally. We finally passed out and got ratified an amendment to solve future tied elections and will soon pass another clarify voting standards. Work is ongoing on other important topics including the very complex issue of health care.

We have very diverse slate of House members, meaning practically every form of political view is represented to some extent. I have been working to engage our members in the new caucus structure, get the caucus structure working with the Representatives that most closely align with their views. But I cannot get this up and running, and also spend my previous time sorting out the latest drama, over lack of action or whatever, that is in itself causing the lack of action.

Drop the drama, work with me to build engagement and to ensure that every member, of every viewpoint has a seat at the table in the House and on the platform committee. That is my wish and that is my objective.

This is not the Republican Party. This is not the Conservative or Libertarian Party. We are the Federalist Party. We were formed by a merger of the pro-regionalist/Libertarian Imperial Bloc and the conservative Whig Party. We have stood at the forefront against attempts to dissolve the regions, to strip them of their representation, to politicize the Court, against Executive Overreach, against a corrupt Department of Justice, against attempts to dissolve the game and split the game up. Our members were leading voices at the Constitutional Convention. Our party (contrary to the lies and distortions) successfully blocked attempts at nationalizing phama, hospitals, railroads, banks, health insurance and yes, POWER COMPANIES long before certain others realized old Labor was rather socialist. Our party has been at the forefront of tax reform, market based and regionally based healthcare reform, reforms to healthcare delivery systems. Our party has championed, encouraged and collaborated to restore regions, and provide regions with more, not less, opportunities to govern responsibly including on education and healthcare. Our Party twice preserved the rights of regions to determine their policies on protecting the unborn.

- We believe that people make better decisions than  government.
- We support a "federalist" system of checks and balances to preserve and protect your freedom.
- We thus believe it is important to protect and strengthen the regions.
- We support reforms that will strengthen the game, but keep regions at the table.
- We believe that all people are equal and entitled to equal rights
- We believe in a gov't only strong enough to protect freedom and too weak to jeopardize it.
- We stand for market and/or regionally based solutions to improve the well being of hard working families, improve education and healthcare, and reduce pressing economic inequalities.
- Finally, we stand for a game that welcomes all participants, new and old, and cherishes the contributions they make to the game.

We may disagree on how best to achieve these goals, but most every Federalist, including every Federalist President has stood by these basic principles. This (worded in paragraph form) has served as our mission statement since July 2014. I wrote it. Our platform has not been updated much. It would be easy for me to just rewrite it myself. But instead I choose a different path. I want to get everyone active in caucuses that represent their values, I want those caucuses to elect leaders and I want those leaders to serve as the Platform Committee.

If you want to help me get this in motion, I'll be here.

If you want to waste time on pointless bickering, I will not join you in wasting a single moment.  I will be busy. Busy making Congress work for the people, busy working to help the President where I can and busy implementing this plan. And thus, I am too going to be too busy for bullsh**t.
