If he doesn't explicitly mention African Americans in every speech, he's ignoring Black issues. If he explicitly mentions African Americans in every speech, he's "Bernie-splaining". It's clear Bernie could do nothing to please the people who write articles like this, so he shouldn't try.

No one is criticizing Bernie for Bernie splaining. Charles is criticizing his supporters for patronizingly assuming Black voters are ignorant and would only fall for him if they only weren't so ignorant.

Holding Q&As on how to talk to black women doesn't help.

I think Ta Nehisi Coates endorsing Sanders will have a much more desired effect on the black community.

The truth of the matter is, Sanders has a better record and better policy proposals regarding the issues that blacks care about.  And the article is right... nobody should be condescending.  But encouraging black people to research the candidates and decide for themselves is certainly not wrong in and of itself.

First of all, most people unless they watch CNN or read the New York Times don't know Ta Nehisi Coates.

Secondly, why do black people specifically need to be proactively sought to Feel the Bern? Why do BernieSplainers think they are ignorant by default?
