The existence of a Lega Nord in the northern United States is quite problematic. Firstly, the entire existence of a regionalist party outside the South is problematic given how strong of a nation-state the US has always been (unlike Italy) and that there has never been any particularist or regionalist identity in the northern US or north Midwest. Only the South could see a similar party, though obviously with different objectives. Instead of hating the other side because they're poors, they'd hate the other side because they're rich libruls.
