this might be the best possible scenario - regular Republicans not voting for Trump, Trumpicans not voting for Republicans lower on the ballot.

The GOP created  a monster that they now have no control over. Can't say I feel bad for them, anyone with a brain could have seen it coming.

Exactly, plus many many low-turnout Republicans just saying screw it and not going out to vote.

There are some rumblings that Trump is going to hold a rally tonight in suburban New York City in order to rally supporters.
Something to shore up the critical swing states of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, no doubt.

This is the real reason Pence accepted the VP solt, he knew Trump couldn't hold it together, and he'd be the nominee. Or something like that.

He never defended anything that Trump has said. Or at least not a majority. Sad!...but true.

This is just great. The list keeps growing and growing. These people have supported and defended Trump for months and now they are realizing what those opposed to him have realized all along. This is what is wrong with the GOP--they oppose all the wrong things and support all the wrong things.

Which is also why they deserve no respect. As you say, they have realized this all along. The only reason they are speaking out now is due to a fear of their own careers being in jeopardy.
