Senator Chuck Robb Announces His Candidacy
Thank you, thank you all! I want to first talk about America in the past 8 years. We have accomplished so much in the two terms of President Clinton. I was on the forefront of passing many of these fiscally responsible reforms to help transform and adapt our economy to the thriving and bustling global world we have now.

We have created tens of millions of new jobs to expand our economy and we are now in the biggest surplus this nation has seen in five decades. But now, our great new future for the new millennium is being threatened by those that seek to give tax breaks for the wealthy instead of for the middle class and to infringe on the rights of women and those with different sexual orientations. We MUST fight these threats and protect the future of our children. That is why today I announce my candidacy for President of the United States!

We must use this incredible surplus to pay down our debt, give tax cuts for the bottom 99% of Americans and invest in our infrastructure with new programs. In my two terms as Senator and as Governor I pushed for financial responsibility and for civil rights of ALL citizens of Virginia and I will do so as President.

I demand that we as Americans push to preserve programs like Social Security and continue sound fiscal programs, and if you agree with these ideas for our new millennium then I ask you to join me in this fight for fiscal responsibility, civil rights, and for freedom.

Thank you, and God Bless America!

Hey, sorry to butt-in here, but I was wondering when the Democratic Debates are and where they will be (If you have that planned). Thanks for your work.
