I like the idea of one four-year term; it would encourage Presidents to do more governing and not squander 75% of their first term because they're triangulating for re-election. Of course, for that to work, you would need to also amend the Constitution to specify that both House and Senate terms would be four years as well (no term limits).

I maintain that a huge problem with our system of government these days is the fact that a) elected officials are way too concerned with upcoming elections and all the crap that comes with it, and b) our institutional balance of power is way too stable/inflexible for a 21st century first-world superpower.
