India. I do not view the modern political construct of India (especially post-Pakistan, a situation I admit Britain has a great deal of responsibility for) as a country worthy of veneration. The rise of Hindu nationalism greatly disturbs me as well. However, the four (or I suppose five now... see, this is why I hate India) South Indian states are amazing, as is the Northeast. Plus, I admire the days when Indian cricketers were gentlemanly and erudite, with tremendous love for the game. Players like Tiger Pataudi, Bishan Bedi and Gundappa Viswanath are heroes of mine.
