Worchester Coakley 52, Brown 47

Collapse in working-class Mass is something to behold really.

To add to that (and everything else so far), Brown's margin in Bristol county is close to 10pts.

Democrats haven't changed any rules... they've been strictly following the 60 vote super-majority rule in the Senate even though Republicans have been abusing it.

I am talking about when Kerry was running for President and Romney was Massachusetts Governor.

The Democrat controlled State Senate in Massachusetts changed the law, in the event that Kerry won the Presidency, the State Senate took away the power of the Governor, at the time Republican Romney, to appoint a new Senator.  Later, the Democrat controlled State Senate, when it became clear that Ted Kennedy would not live much longer, they changed the law again, allowing the Governor, at the time Democrat Patrick, to appoint a new Senator.

That is most definitely changing and manipulating the law whenever it suits the Massachusetts Democrats narrow minded and self serving political agenda.

Well they came off the ganja break and brown won Lowell 52-47.

That's amazing in a traditional old mill city.

The pvi was only plus one Dem, so it is a marginal town in a close election. It translates into about a a 7% Brown margin. Most of Cambridge by the way is still out, so I am not sure Brown will manage a 7% margin. It is 5% now, and might stay that way, or drop to maybe 4% depending on what else is still out.

Brown almost won Nantucket.

Nantucket only has a 3% Dem pvi, so it is in line with the swing.

Nice and gracious concession speech by C. Some might say it was the best moment of her campaign.  Smiley

She gave him plenty of extra time to talk in the debates by using her own time to ask him questions, which he used to sound off at length. Never fully made the transition from the courtroom, really.

96% in 5% Brown.

Okay who had 5% in the pool.  Smiley

I'm surprised by the size of the victory.

I think the certification board should take its sweet time.. how about several months?

Then when the Republicans cry foul... we can just happily point at Norm Coleman.

There's a big difference, Norm Coleman was basically tied. Coakley lost fair and square.

Jim Webb just said nothing else on health care until Brown is seated.

Ya, 5% is a final. North Attleborough (sp) is still all out, which will largely but not entirely cancel Cambridge, and Brown has about a 5.2%-5.3% margin now.

The real psephological geniuses are the Coakley people, who predicted a 5% loss this afternoon, about 2 hours before the polls closed.
