The question is, what are Reform voters engaged with.

Terminally online. And that's been bleeding into the heart of government for the last few years despite it having increasingly negative returns.

Pretty much all, though I'm not that familar with EastwoodS and BarbounDem.

As for Obama24, 6 months seems a bit long, at least depending on whether he received a warning in advance. heatcharger actually should be glad his mute is "only" 7 days. Not that I expect him to change afterwards. He disappeared for a week when he was put under moderator review and then just continued his old habits of trolling via uncreative one-liners as soon as the sanction expired.

If the Tories have any sense they should stop him from running this as a presidential campaign immediately.

Thank god they have a minister for common sense, surely they’ll have the sense to right the ship!

Biden isn't going to be replaced, and wasn't ever since he announced in April 2023. Unless there's a sudden change in his health, he's going to be the nominee. End of story.

My initial impression is that, since Israel isn't known for using incendiary devices, the missile strike set off something like a gas cannister and triggered a major fire that way.

Which is really something that should have been thought about before authorising a strike like that.

I suspect it has been 'thought about' and the response is that it's proportionate in each and every case.

Maybe it's more a matter of the *quality* of said disproportionate political engagement, i.e. a higher share of social-media-monopolizing shut-ins--that is, they're the reason the "do not read the comment threads" news-link rule of thumb exists...

But surely such people should be an outsized share of the minority of people who vote in low turnout elections, given they would be so happy to push their opinions. On that note, I see very little pro-Reform comments on social media, but a much larger number of ideologically Reform comments. If even the politically engaged don’t seem to have fully taken notice of Reform, I’m sceptical that more ordinary members of the public with Reform adjacent views are actually intending to vote for them. I mean, Reform are apparently as popular as UKIP were in 2015 according to the polls, but there’s next to no evidence of this in the real world whether data or anecdotes.

Simple question - did the US, or did it not, massively bomb Cambodia despite the fact that it was a NEUTRAL COUNTRY in the war?? Causing huge destruction and loss of innocent life.

The reality is that the Vietnam War, like the Iraq War more recently, was both totally indefensible and did massive harm to the standing of America in the wider world.

North Vietnam invaded Cambodia with 100,000 troops and drove the Royal Cambodian Army out of a third of the country. Maybe the foriegn Communist Army which armed the Khmer Rouge had a greater role than the poorly executed ARVN operation which failed to drive them out?

Yes, I guess you could argue a better executed operation would have prevented it. But the failure of the Bay of Pigs can be blamed for the lack of democracy in Cuba too. The closest thing is backing Lon Nol was a strategic mistake in the same way allowing the overthrow of Diem turned out to be.

Replacing Biden would lead to an almost certain loss. It’s just not a good look. The time to replace him would have been through the primary system. The only way it wouldn’t be a disaster is if he needed to be replaced because he was sick/ passed away.
