I chalk it up to an unfortunate mixture things that really worked against Perry. Up against Hillary, the Republicans need to nominate someone with gravitas. Perry actually has "presence." I know it's shallow, but it matters subconsciously to a lot of voters. And I'm not gonna support someone who just can't win by virtue of who they are. Neither of Jindal or Paul will ever be president.
