I figured I'd make this thread, since it'll be a high profile battle and in the news for the next few months.

Whip List from the Hill.

Sen. Joe Manchin is "leaning strongly in support" of the Iran Deal.

Supposedly Fienstein was the first Senator to side with the deal. I'm still in shock.

Feinstein was pretty supportive of the negotiations from the beginning, if I recall. She criticized Netanyahu for not offering any alternative, and said she did not favor further sanctions, since "the Iranian people deserve more."

IMO, the only gettable Senate Republican is Jeff Flake.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is a yes. That's big.

EDIT: Sen. Shaheen (D-NH) too.

I think Murray and Cantwell will both come home. Iran desperately needs new airplanes for its civilian airlines, and Boeing badly wants to sell them planes. Given that Gillibrand and Nelson both are in favor, I don't know which other 12 Senate Democrats would defect.

I think Rep. Walter Jones is a possibility, but I think he might vote no, since he has another tough primary challenge coming up.

Since Lugar was mentioned, former Sen. John Warner (R-VA) and Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) wrote this op-ed in favor of the agreement.

Mark Warner is close with Schumer, but I have a hard time seeing him vote against this, especially since Kaine, Beyer, Connolly, and now John Warner are all in favor.

I know Gary Peters is supposed to be a "tossup," so maybe Levin's support pushes him towards supporting the deal?

Sen. Hirono (D-HI) and both Senators from Rhode Island are in favor. That's 23. 11 more needed in the Senate.

Yes. They need nine more to protect Obama's inevitable veto.
