I don't really see anything notable or particularly interesting in her wikipedia article and since I know basically nothing about her I tend to favor that article.

What I like about Mercedes is that her family tended to be Fascist/franquist (previously falangistas) like her grandfather, the 1st Calvo Sotelo, who was killed by republicans (his death is considered the beggining of the civil war). Her uncle was president of Spain and then joined the PP and supported Aznar. And she's a socialist congressperson and former minister.
