White man who stood up to Obama. A bit of a warmonger. President of an oil rich country. Flat tax. Does anything more need to be said?

If you took Putin, completely decontextualized him (stripping away his Russian identity, personal history, physical appearance, and so on), and left behind a rump shell of a man with only his basic personality and policy preferences intact, then somehow set him up to run for elective office in Texas -- yes, actually, I think he'd have an excellent shot at it. He blends the bias towards oligarchical resource-based capitalism and moral collectivism Texans seem to prefer.

You forgot: hatred of LGBT-people, extremely socially conservative, wants to restore old glory

Of course, as long as he had the (R) even Hitler could be elected in Texas.

This wasn't even that long of a conversation. Guess it strikes some conversations faster than others.
