Certainly not. I have a lapel pin of that photo of Johnny Cash showing the finger; I might wear that regularly.

No idea, but I think it's pretty neat and respectful. Back in early times most men and women work cockades during times of war/unrest.
Revolutionary unrest. 1789, 1848, 1918. That sort of thing. Not comparable to the modern US at all.
