Clinton +3
Toomey +4

Also, if it's more than Toomey +2, the RCP no-tossups map will flip back to Toomey as the McGinty +7 will cycle off.

A Vanderbilt Tennessee poll will be conducted during the week before and week after the debate.  Probably nothing interesting, though!

Yikes. The state is a pretty good fit for him, though

Such a good fit that he almost finished third in the caucuses?

It's in the field all week.  They wanted to see if there would be a significant change after the debate. So, it's a 2-week poll, last week and this.

It's in the field all week.  They wanted to see if there would be a significant change after the debate. So, it's a 2-week poll, last week and this.

So is Vanderbilt just trying to troll ExtremeRepublican and TNVol? I mean they'd be better served going east or south and polling NC or GA instead but what are they waiting for right now lol.

Haha, yeah. They've said that they will release it on Oct. 6, not that I look forward to it, lol.

https://news.vanderbilt.edu/2016/09/29/find-out-oct-6-how-clinton-and-trump-are-faring-in-tennessee/

From the release, it seems that they will release it as two separate polls, one pre-debate and one post-debate.  Even if TN isn't interesting, it will be interesting to see if Clinton gained any ground after the debate.  I might try to go to the release if I have nothing going on.

Vanderbilt showed Romney up 3 and 7 points in TN in 2012. He won by 20 points on election day.

Well, it also did have Tennessee's Amendment 1 down by 48 points in 2014.  It passed by more than 5.  They did phrase their poll in a strange way, and it was in the spring, but it's still a strange result.  One of the guys who runs the Vanderbilt poll helps call the races for NBC on Election Night.

New Marquette poll coming out Wednesday... next Wednesday, October 12th. Not much point in making guesses this far out, although you'd think the bounce would spread to Wisconsin as well.

We could have a whole new national trend by then

I think it could be a bad poll.  Remember that the original tweet said ""swing" states" (notice their quotations).  They could be meaning that none of them seemed to be swing states in their polls.  Unless, they mean it in a good way for Ohio.  But, I'll say Clinton+5 and Portman+8.  PPP will find a tie, more or less, and Portman up double digits.

Any predictions about tomorrow's update of the LA Times poll?  I'll say Trump +0.8.

Clinton +8 is my prediction.  NBC/WSJ has always been a little more friendly to HRC than some other pollsters.

Chris Hays is saying on twitter that you're gonna want to check this out.  I say Clinton +7

Chris Hayes is a Democratic/liberal talking head so I think it is Clinton by double digits

Yeah, it's either going to be a massive Clinton lead, then, or a surprisingly decent result for Trump.  Probably either something like Clinton +3 or +14.
