Jackson was more cruel than Washington or Jefferson and cruelty in that day was more akin to level of enforcement or disciplinary actions, esp. harsher the further south you went. Jackson, overall, was ruthless in military matters, business, politics, and smears and deaths (his wife Rachel and the corrupt bargain of 1824). He was a hard, NFG type of guy for his day that is why so many admired him then and now. ↓↓↓
