The Bill is pretty self-explanatory and addresses a real and tangible effect of climate change. We have so much infrastructure, much of it vital, along our coasts and in other areas at high risk from the effects of climate change, including sea-level rise, storm, surges, increased salinity in some areas.

I'm very open to any ideas that Senator Blair or others have.

So the maximum the Federal Government will provide to a region is $500m per year. Each project must be co-funded, which means regions who have the willingness to co-fund to a 50-50 split, or better, will have more or larger projects they can undertake, as opposed to those that are only willing to do a 30-70 split.
