More importantly when will we know how the race is going?

I'm thinking Vermont will be called first but that won't tell us anything.

IN, KY, SC, & VT all close at 7 and I reckon they all get immediately. The Eastern time zones in IN & KY close at 6 EST so you already have a good amount of returns in already by 7. I could see them holding off on VT if RFK is polling very well in the state and the networks choose to wait for actual returns before calling it. Similar to UT in 2016.

I think the 11.05.2024 polls closings at 07:00 p.m. ET will see immediate projections of Vermont, as a Democratic hold, and each of Indiana, South Carolina, and Kentucky, as Republican holds.

The 07:00 p.m. ET polls closings in Georgia and Virginia will not be immediately projected.

It might depend on if there are exit polls of Vermont. Without exit polls the networks might be hesitant to call the race until at least a little of the vote is in even though everyone knows who will win. That won't be a problem in Indiana and Kentucky.
