While it's probably inaccurate to say that the contraception mandate would have died without her, she is the face of it nowadays.  And because of the contraception mandate, health insurance rates will go down (unplanned pregnancies are very expensive and maternity coverage is no longer an optional extra) AND the abortion rate will go down.  Pretty awesome.

HP. Why should I pay for your bad decision?

Your health insurance premiums will pay a lot more for people's unplanned pregnancies than they will for their birth control pills...

Conservatives don't complain about insurance covering gunshot wounds, STD treatments, or injuries sustained during fornication.  Why single out birth control pills?

Hint:  It's because "The Pill" is for women.  There is no male birth control pill, but if there were there would not be nearly as much controversy about insurance companies having to cover it.
