Not happening, but as he says, at least he's trying.

We need fighters in Washington- no one has fought more for our country then a Medal of Honor recipient. I salute LTJG Kerrey and wish him the best

I feel really bad for Kerrey; he's going to have a tough time getting anywhere close to a victory.

"Santorum - that's Latin for 'asshole.'"

Oh, I'll certainly enjoy Kerrey's landslide defeat!

Clearly, not the same; three reason

1) Santorum was actually the incumbent. Kerrey, although a former senator, hasn't participated in a Nebraska election from 1994.

2) Nebraska is a very Republican state, Pennsylvania is a swing state.

3) Kerrey will probably defeated badly in November. Santorum already was.

He'll lose by 15 to 25. Really a shame Nelson bowed out. He was polling well against Fischer and probably would have been in a Claire McCaskill type situation right now.

I never said it was the same and your third "point" means absolutely nothing.

Just because he won the medal of honor doesn't mean he'd make a good Senator.

I think Ben Nelson would be doing just as poorly as Kerrey.  Fisher will win 60%

I'll just do my usual bit now and remind everyone that the man is a war criminal.

Kerry won landslide elections for every term he ran. He even won 57 percent in Nebraska during the Dukakis Debacle of 1988. He got 55 percent in the GOP Wave of 1994. Obviously Nebraskans loved him enough to keep him for 12 years.

Good point; any sympathy I had for the man is now gone.

I think Kerrey himself has said that he feels pretty strong guilt for some of his actions, and I'm not sure but I don't think he lists his Bronze Star for Thanh Phong on his CV any more. I think Bob Kerrey's conscience convicted Bob Kerrey a long time ago.

Bob Kerrey's conscious is not a court of law... many combat veterans have done things they regret but that does not make us war criminals. That is a very serious and deeply offensive accusation

No, I understand that. I think it's definitely fair to point out that Kerrey's done things he's not proud of (and been rewarded for them, which is depending on how you look at it perhaps a little perverse), but I don't think calling him a war criminal is the most helpful way to express that.

This race would of been competetive if the Dems were to gain senate seats, but since that's not gonna happen Kerrey should abandon his campaign.

So what?

Kerrey has been out of Nebraska for 12 years and a lot of things changed in meanwhile.

Beside, getting +50% is hardly a "landslide". Democrats like Jim Exon or Ben Nelson were doing better, and Nelson won reelection as Governor by over 70 in 1994.

Bob was independent o clintons until he moved to NY. His endorsement of Bradley alon w Moyniham being a national security powerhouse. Running against Clinton in primary.

Bob Kerrey wasted his career when he retired from Senate and move away from Nebraska. Period,
