Guys, getting your ass handed by Lyndon doesn't justify this bizarre obsession. Just ignore him and quit spamming the Bureaus and Mines. It's getting embarrassing.

Lyndon has never handed anyone his or her ass.

Are you going to quote 2004 posts anytime soon?

Seriously.  I'm sure people said a lot of very "dumb" stuff in the past ... besides, weren't early post-2014 midterms polls showing Hillary ahead in Arkansas?

I say it's Tim Roemer. He's anti NAFTA, he's Roman Catholic just like Kaine, and he's voted in favor in the House in the 1990's to reduce student loans, and to increase Pell Grants.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_J._Roemer

I don't know why I find Bronz's obsession with Tim Roemer so funny, but I do

Pretty much anything bronz says or does is hilarious, haha.

I bet if you asked Jill Stein if she was into wicca she would find a way to avoid saying no.

He lost it years ago when he began the libertarian takeover of the GOP.

in what world is he a libertarian? and what world have libertarians taken the party?
When he endorsed legalization of marijuana.

Oldiesfreak and Wulfric need to get a gay marriage together.  The logic at the dinner table would be astonishing.

It's not a "joke" if it's coated in hate.  Which is the only thing that POS knows.

I think most liberals' "jokes" directed toward, well, the people who don't vote for them, are coated in hate.

Yeah, when white people get made fun of, they're on equal footing with the worst things that happen to trans people.

Why do all liberals do this?  It's like you believe so blindly in your cause (which in this case is a good one) that you are literally incapable of having a conversation without going into bleeding heart mode.  I LITERALLY DIDN'T SAY THAT, haha.

I think this is why I tend to really enjoy conversing with hardcore liberals on the Internet yet find most of them unbearable and ridiculously weird/void of interpersonal skills in real life.

Why do all conservatives make things about themselves though? How come every time someone makes an overtly bigoted comment, conservatives respond with "well liberals hate people too"

Because it's natural for people to get mad when they feel there's a double standard.  I know and like a lot of Black people who, if I'm being totally frank, are pretty bigoted people.  However, pointing that out carries a total shadow of shame because of a history of institutional racism.  You can ridicule a redneck for his prejudices, calling him every insult in the book, and most won't say a thing, but you could never get a way with calling a slightly prejudice but otherwise normal Black man some name because of his bigotry.  Is that fair/warranted?  That's a valid conversation, but it doesn't change the fact that the Black people I happen to be referring to are being assholes in these instances, and it's very understandable to become frustrated when you feel like one "side" has a blank slate to be an asshole and not be called out for it.

None of this belongs in this thread, though, so I'll stop.

The legendary Wulfric endorsement is a bad one to lose.

LOL, I love how Wulfric even uses "endorse" as a verb regarding his preference in the first place!  An endorsement should only be made if, well, anyone at all knows who you are.

Got a chuckle out of this, and I don't think I've ever copied something into here:

Mixed. Comes off as comically elitist, which can annoy some people. His totally misconstrued perception of RINO Tom is quite amusing though. RINO Tom is the exact kind of person who he thinks is becoming apart of the Democrstic coalition, but he keeps insisting Tom is a troll for some reason.
Well, even RINO Tom would admit he does troll, but singling him out as the definitive Atlas troll is ridiculous.

Jealous?

One issue of course is getting to where my girlfriend lives, since that would require traveling through a Trump state and many Trump counties. So my plan is to only get gas and food in Hillary counties. That basically means stopping in Eau Claire, and then filling up in Dane County along the way. Rockford would be OK too, since in the end Winnebago County narrowly voted for Hillary. But I'm not going to get out and set foot in any of the Trump counties that exist between Hennepin County and Lake County, IL. Ideally I could just boycott Wisconsin altogether but alas that wretched place has to be stuck between us.

This has however convinced me that everyone's hatred of the Green Bay Packers is 100% justified.

Unintentional humor posts are always the best in here.  BRTD is literally insane, I can't even imagine how weird I would think a person who says things like this would be in real life.

Why don't you ask the posters who have met me in real life?

Nothin' personal, BRTD, just can't imagine how I would find myself liking or enjoying the company of someone who writes off everyone who is different from him that quickly.

I get who the OP is, but how is this even a question? Joe Wilson is an irrelevant footnote who only attained that status by being a jerk. John Lewis is a living American icon who has more dignity in his pinky finger than Wilson does in his entire body. Lewis has earned his place in history, and is not wrong to say the President-elect is illegitimate because he was not popularly elected. Joe Wilson rode the wave of subtly racist Obama hatred and has now faded into obscurity.

I am not a bad person.

Yes, but it's a reason why I am a hard core centrist. Purists on both sides are crazed. I am beholden to no one. I speak the truth. I offend both sides and I am so proud.

Bronz seriously has me in tears half the time.  Gold.

If you added Winthrop Rockefeller to this list, I might have gone with Winthrop - the most left-wing Governor of Arkansas.
Not really, at least economically.

Yeah, that's just a crazy claim.  Faubus was literally a socialist, wasn't he?  The fact that he was a racist doesn't exclude him from being left-wing, though that's always oh-so-hard for our forum Dems to come to terms with. Smiley

But, but, I was told in school that the two parties switched places!  The Republicans were liberals and the Democrats were conservatives!  Modern political labels apply perfectly to the 19th century!
Everyone knows that political ideologies are basically just grab bags of assorted policies that never change, regardless of the historical context. Andrew Jackson was a conservative visionary opposed by leftist Northern Whigs (we know they were leftists because they supported "big government" and fair trade). Then, in 1932, FDR got elected and said "let's all be liberals now!" The Democrats traded platforms with the GOP and remain the party of Hamiltonian progressive Marxism to this day.
