THIS IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT !
trump is behind, and he needed to attract and gain new voters in order to have any chance of winning.
Which candidate did a better job in speaking and reaching-out to the electorate and expanding from their base (NOT JUST SPEAKING TO WHAT THEIR CURRENT BASE WANTS TO HEAR) ?

Obviously Clinton with her level-headed approach. Trump went back into full GOP primary mode and then some.

Neither. Probably 90% of people have already made up their minds. Many of the remaining 10% will either vote third party or won't even vote.

Basically this. Trump came off as unhinged in the first half of the debate and Clinton seemed like a complete snake with her fake smile whenever Trump attacked her.

Trump stopped the bleeding.  That's all he could do.

Neither probably. It just riled up both bases that already picked their side.

Clinton but only a tiny bit. I think her message of "diversity and respect for everyone" worked in her favor to get more minority and women to register.

Trump won his base's fervor based on his attack on email and jail comment but people that were pleased with such attack were already going to vote for him from the start.

That said, I think Trump narrowly won the debate tonight

Clinton, but mainly because her opponent tended to blabber on nonsensically. Half the time Trump was talking during the beginning of the debate, I felt like I was having a stroke.
