Mikulski's not a bad senator, but she's had 5 terms, and it's only right that someone else gets a shot at being Senator.

Maryland's filing deadline is in Late February, so it's conceivable that O'Malley could run for president, do horrible in Iowa, drop out, and file to run for Senate.

Beyond him, there's also the 7 democratic U.S. representatives and Heather Mizeur.

Doug Gansler could also run, but the party might want to reserve him for 2018 Governor.

At the bottom of the list, of course, is Anthony Brown, who lost to Hogan last year, although even Brown should be O.K. here, given that it's a presidential year.

In any case, this is Safe D until republicans show they have another miracle-making candidate.

She isn't going to win, but she may be able to get within 10 points and trick Democrats into spending some money here.
