The only thing disrespectful about McCain's "disrespectful" ad is how horribly it's probably taking everything out of context.

Obama really needs an ad that draws blood.

I don't really see anything like that in any of these ads.

He can throw out all the attack ads he wants, but nothing has stuck, and he has been unable to get into the newscycle with any of these ads.

There is still time. They need to keep running different ads to see if anything sticks. It's important for the campaign not to overreact.

If Obama is still trailing in late October, it's time to start taking risks and putting out some controversial ads.

My idea of a controversial ad? Hint at his own assassination with this picture:

And ask the audience: can you really trust Sarah Palin in such a circumstance?

...except most Americans love Sarah Palin.

If you're going to go after Sarah Palin, you don't go after her trustworthiness or leadership, you go after McCain for making a tactical political decision instead of a leadership decision - and thus being "more of the same."  But Chris, that is an AWFUl idea for an ad.

Obama should not be talking about Palin unless asked a question in an interview.  Pretty much like McCain and Biden.  If this election is a referendum on Palin, Obama loses.

After two weeks, yes.

But after two months?

That's up to debate.

A majority of swing voters are not going to dislike Sarah.  Sorry sir.  If they really hate anyone who is inexperienced then they are already sold on McCain.

Your proof of your assertion is non-existent.

Indeed, but in order for YOUR assertion about what a successful attack ad would entail, YOU have the burden of proof.

I'm saying it's not going to work and you are saying it is.  My assertion to the contrary means that our two assertions cancel out and you have to get your case together sir.

All indications thus far is that attacking Palin isn't going to work.  That's why McCain is releasing several ATTACK ads that are accusing Obama of attacking Palin when he wasn't.  McCain's team of strategists and poltiical analysts (who are prob better at analyzing than you or I) has determined that if the public feels Palin is under attack, then McCain will do better.  So, at this junction in time, it's pretty clear that attacking Palin would simply feed into the McCain campaign's message.

Could thing change?  Yes.  Will they?  Probably not until one can be persuaded otherwise.

There we go, your move.

The Palin hunting ad is the most powerful ad I've seen yet in this campaign. Very disturbing.

Apparently the other thread on it was deleted(?)

Check out my thread on it.

And yes, that ad would be disturbing to those ignorant about hunting.

Ha, I'm sure it would but it's also going to be disturbing to plenty of people not ignorant of it as well.

Doubtful. It played while I was at work and most of the avid hunters there understood the reasons why. We have a nuisance predator here in our area, it's called an alligator.

I didn't say it would impact avid hunters but I don't think you have to be an avid hunter to understand hunting. But for what it's worth, Snowguy, who seems to be a pretty avid hunter himself, found it pretty disgusting.

Somehow I'd doubt that.
