Yeah, 45% approval rating in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the 30's is obviously awful. Maybe the guy should ask W. to give him lessons how to become popular.
Loving that spin.
Yeah, it comes straight from the mouth of notorious Democratic spinmeister David Frum.
You know, the one that penned that notorious Dem slogan about the "Axis of Evil".
Frum has made himself irrelevent in the Conservative movement really. As such I consider him to a dying animal gasping for breath and desperately trying to maintain what little importance he has left.
Their main objective is to make Obama a one-term President.
Not exactly an unpopular idea with the American electorate right now.
The investigation threats are overblown.

BTW, ain't it funny that Republicans suddenly rediscovered how important is congressional oversight? It seems that the amnesia from which they suffered during the Bush years is finally cured.
It reminds me of how they also suddenly rediscovered fiscal conservatism after Obama was elected.
I would rather have an investigative committee waisting money and doing its job, then doing nothing except being a fixture while a bunch of cowboys in the executive branch rob us blind. Its really a question of priorities.
Of course. Obama's birth certificate and the "Global Warming Hoax" are more important than anything else.
Not necessarily. The Clintons where exonerated for Whitewater and Foster's death, yet the Republicans just wouldn't let the matter go.
You are ridiculous. A priority as in "Its more important to do their jobs then it is to cower in front of the media look for favorable articles in the NY Times and Politico that they will never get anyway".
Nobody is going to care if there are hearings dragging a bunch of scientists and climatologists before congress to argue whether AGW is accurate or not. And again if the media makes it big issue, that doesn't mean Congress shouldn't do their job, it means the media should stop acking like an arm of the DNC.
I don't recall hearing that Issa was going to investigate the Birth Certificate. And frankly I don't give a damn. The big damn problem with OBama's birth certificate is that he has done more ot feed the nonesesnical conspiracies, possibly for political gain (big weapon to be able to throw the label of "birther" at your enemies, especially with a Chicago style President), then anything else. The situation lends itself to conspiracy nuts coming up with crazy answers and untruths just like the media treatment of JFK during his Presidency and then their actions afterwards did more to feed conspiracy mongers then to dispell and get rid of them. But this really is a story for another time, not here.
You reach a point where you have say there is nothing more here, but you can't get to that point unless the investigations occur in the first place.
I will point out that many considered the investigations into Nixon, politically motivated hitjobs that is, untill they struck pay dirt. Most investigations are politically motivated, but that doesn't mean there is nothing going on just because of that fact.
