I would like to introduce to following 2 amendments written by Governor Joe Republic. There ya go Joe. Smiley

1. In Section 2, Clause 3, the list of eligible committee members is amended to remove the PPT and all senators as they are listed, and replace them as follows:
* District 1 senator
* District 2 senator
* District 3 senator
* District 4 senator
* District 5 senator
* Mideast Regional senator
* Midwest Regional senator
* Northeast Regional senator
* Pacific Regional senator
* Southeast Regional senator

2. Of the three original committee members, the Deputy SoFA is replaced by the Senate PPT.

I'm going to be very glad when my term as PPT expires and someone else gets to be subjected to this. Tongue

Oh you know you'll run for another round of it. Tongue

As Secretary of Forum Affairs, I must urge every Senator to reject this  bill.  First of all, this adds too much bureaucracy to the already large government.  Also, there is no way to make sure that the SoFA will count the ballots correctly and not for personal gain.  Once again, please take this bill off the table as soon as possible.

Ok people get it straight, there's three people on the commite to count the votes, I doubt they'll all be in on it because they wouldn't all be in the same party.

I'd like to propose an amendment on the chain of command list:

Secretary of State
Attorney General
Secretary of Defense
Secretary of the Treasury
District 4 senator
District 1 senator
District 2 senator
District 3 senator
District 5 senator
Southeast Regional senator
Mideast Regional senator
Midwest Regional senator
Northeast Regional senator
Pacific Regional senator

No the numbers in order of high to low is fine, no need to give your district and then region special preferences.

I would also like to put forward an amendment to this bill:

Section 9

Corruption, electoral fraud, the changing of votes, and tampering with votes in any way, is hereby criminalized in Atlasia. All members of the said committee who are found guilty of any of these charges will have their voting rights striped for a maximum of one year. Trials will be conducted according to the provisions set in place by the Omnibus Criminal Law Act.

This is a good amendment, I'll vote for it. Need to get this done now and not after someone does something.

I have an idea about how to implement this Secret Ballot but yet keep a running total and keep preliminary results available. What we have is once a secret ballot is sent to the SoFA that ballot is placed in a special stickied thread on the Fantasy Elections board. Their is no name on the ballot and the entire vote is kept anonymous. This would allow people to see secret ballots and be able to come up with up to date results that would help discussions while keeping the ballots of people who voted by secret ballot anonymous and secret. I think that this is a good compromise between the people who want to keep public ballots due to fun and those that want to see a secret ballot due to voter intimidation.

This would also keep the write-ins down as you can tell what people's votes by their ballot.

I also think this is a good idea.

Well I'm having trouble putting this into amendment form. If someone could write something along these lines up for me that would be great. If not I'll try writing it.

I could take a shot at it but I'm gone for the rest of today.

This has passed.

I'd also like to motion for a vote on this amendment.

Aye on the amendment.

Yea I'm starting to think that that idea (Colin's recent amendment) isn't a good idea anymore.

Gabu, can you please tell me the current state of this bill after all the amendments so I can see what needs to be changed?

Nothing really needs to be changed or added on unless I've missed an amendment besides the voting thread one.

I wouldn't think that'd matter all that much, as going that far down that list looking for Committee members would really be a worst-case scenario.  Still, if a senator thinks its really all that worth the trouble, I can't stop you.  Wink

I just want to get this passed the way it is now, it's fine and dandy this way.
