Not really.  He mostly left the country on a series of foreign policy excursions designed by Kissinger to assert Nixon's statesmanship and gravitas.  I'll repeat an earlier post I made on Nixon:

He aimed for what was politically expedient.  Sometimes this resulted in good policy; his overall effect on American democracy, however, is negative.

There were some foreign policy gems in this desperate trip, for example Nixon in China (although you have to give Mao some credit too).
