Actually, I'm the incumbent.  Wormyguy is an At-large Senator.

What do you mean?  If you mean in terms of the NE Senate election, you are currently my only opponent.  The At-large Senate elections won't be until August.

I will probably be absent a lot and only turn up to vote on some select bits of legislation.

Yankee would love this. Tongue

I'm not 'rejecting' the terms of the discussion, I'm openly admitting what I'll be: a reliable vote for the sort of change the Tweed campaign has outlined. I'll be an invisible man, not obscuring the cause with my personality. It would be idiotic for me to promise to post in every single Senate thread, when at the very heart of the 'ideology' I'm propagating is the idea is that the Senate is occupying itself with all sort of irrelevant little bits of nonsense.

Who cares about the system of taxation? Who cares about our defense budget? Atlasia is about the elections and about the drama that accompanies them. I will only vote on relevant legislation.

The terms of discussion are in the process of rejecting themselves.

I disagree.  I don't post or argue for every single bill that comes to the Senate, but debate is what keeps the game active as well as elections.  The game tends to suffer when we elect do-nothing or say-nothing senators.  We had to expel a senator a few weeks ago for this reason, actually.

Just two things I wanted to respond to.

Who can feel passion about the drab, abstract 'legislation' debated in our Senate?

People who care strongly about the issues, I'd thought...

Atlasia is very center-left.  Also, I don't see how activity doesn't make for a good president.  Ideology is important, but activity and governing style are just as important.
