I might actually support the Dem ticket if she's the VP so we can get her out of here!  I would just fear the assasin in that case.

Her VP would take over.

What are her re-election chances, anyway?

If she wins, she takes McCain's seat in 2010. He's got to retire by then.

At least he'll have a more conservative replacement.

If he wins the White House in 2008, which is very much in doubt, the governor will nevertheless appoint a Democrat that position, who will then be an incumbent in 2010, and probably win. So it looks like either way, 2006 will decide who gets Goldwater's old seat.
