The White House Office Of President DemPGH

Welcome to the office of President DemPGH and Vice-President Tyrion! You may reach us here with questions as well as with all items relevant to official business. I'll issue exec orders and handle nominations and other related matters here as well.

I'll make general announcements relevant to public outreach in our other offices.

Thank you for visiting!

If the Senate authorizes you to use force in Iraq, what action(s) will you take?

Unless the situation drastically deteriorates and / or we become part of a coalition, I don't plan on taking any immediate action (although it's nice to have options). I don't want involved there and I don't want to start bombing because what we have are thugs running around. It's the same old story, really.

The current enterprise to become more warlike I find presumptuous (I was never consulted on any of this as incoming President) and I certainly think it borders on recklessness.

LOL, yeah.

Interest in the period, Yorkist sympathies, and he was a dapper fellow who won all his battles. Wink

I also am a member of the Richard III Society, so I like to keep things "in House." Tongue

Thanks, Windjammer! Posting those notices will be perfect.

Appointments

SoFE Homelycooking, R.G. Fritz, and A.G. Simfan34 are returning, so I do not believe there will be hearings for them, but Yank or WJ can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

So, we shall need hearings for the following:

Napoleon is nominated for G.M.

Averroës Nix is nominated for SoEA.

HagridOfTheDeep is nominated for SoIA.

Snowstalker is nominated for Deputy / Assistant A.G.

I'll handle Superique's position with an exec order in the near future.

Okay, we're going to err on the side of caution here and go ahead with a confirmation hearing for Simfan34 as A.G. This is because while he was A.G. Simfan became G.M. and there is question as to whether or not he swore in. These are technicalities, so let's just do it by the book.

Snowstalker is promoted to Attorney General. Not sure about a hearing requirement.

A thank you to Maxwell for bringing the Wiki further up to date!

I'm declaring the office vacant. The President has control over the cabinet.

Thus, Snowstalker is promoted, appointed, raised in rank, etc. Tongue I'd as soon as he just slide into the position and take over as he suggests. But if a hearing is required, it is required. I'm highly confident that a hearing would not be a problem if it is required.

In congruence with the Semi-Presidentialism Amendment, I am hereby appointing the highly capable and quite indefatigable Windjammer as Deputy Attorney General.

Superique recently offered a private resignation as Pacific Crisis Manager, and frankly, I do not see the position as terribly productive or terribly legal. I do not plan to continue it. I also do not recommend that any further stimulus packages be authorized to the region.

Silver and gold star inductions will be conducted soon!

I took a very brief look at the US Office of Consular Affairs to come up with this. It is by no means exhaustive. It reflects the President's general concern for the safety of Atlasians in the general region concerned.

At least the supreme court didn't waste anymore of my time in this regard than what they already did!

With regard to the cabinet:

1. If Napoleon's resignation is in doubt, he is dismissed as GM. I plan to make an appointment once the V.P. situation has been settled.

2. I have made an inquiry with the SoIA, HagridOfTheDeep, as to his availability and interest in continuing in the position. I will update sometime in the near future.

A special welcome to V.P. Tyrion - I feel kind of like starting over with a new introduction! Nonetheless, I wanted acknowledge that that terrible and silly chapter is over with, and Atlasia has a Vice President again.

hifly15 is nominated to replace Averroës Nix as SoEA.

We've discussed foreign affairs at length, so I hope this goes well!
