I have concerns about fully integrating the GM as a member of the cabinet. Sure, the dismissal process is different, but the implication is that of subordination, which is problematic to the role of the GM and how it relates to the administration. It implies that the President can "direct" its actions for instance.

Aye FTR I guess

Well, I guess this makes some sense... Would entrenching the cabinet offices firmly in the body of the constitution like this prevent the senate from making changes to each department's duties?

Yes it could potentially, Yankee V. Atlasia case in point. I would recommend adding terminology that allows for the amendment of the office's duties by legislative action.

I need to consider my remaining concerns about the GM and such, other than tht I see few issues.

I Would have probably abstained. The whole reason for the missed vote was that I passed up opportunities to vote trying to decide whether or not it was a good idea to have the GM handled in this fashion, and I came to no solid conclusion on that front.
