How can we all be possibly avoiding the topic of Ted Cruz being awful? What has this forum become?

Everytime you talk sh*t about Robert Byrd your penis gets a little bit shorter.

Your wang gets smaller when you remind someone that Robert Byrd was an HP until a few years before his death?

It was more than just a few years before his death.

Look.  What he did in his past was horrible.  No one here disagrees with that.  Byrd could do nothing about it but repent and apologize.  As a Christian, I think his debts have been repaid.  As a human, I think everyone deserves another chance.

Smart.  Is it really news when Cruz says something like this?

At least Byrd apologized for his past views. Jesse Helms? Not so much.

So basically, all you're telling us is that an apology makes everything ok after individually filibustering the Civil Rights bill for 14 hours straight.

Considering his filibuster didn't work and the bill passed anyway, I'd say that during the course of his career, Robert Byrd's legislation and voting record did far less harm to black people than that of Jesse Helms - whose hatred of black people was not merely directed at African-Americans, but extended to black people in South Africa and throughout the developing world.
