I am founding a new party called the Social Democrats for Progressivism and Leftism. It can also be called the Social Democrats or SDPL. The ideology will be in between the liberal and labor parties, so basically any political matrix score between -2 and -8 on economics and social, but you are still welcome to join if you are outside these margins.

In accordance with the we need more political parties amendment, the social democrats will become an official party when we have three members. When that happens, an official platform will be created.

The social democrats intend to provide an alternative to the liberals and laborites and to represent the opinions of ALL atlasians.

Well, I can't support this party for ideological reasons, but having more serious parties is always a good thing for Atlasia, even more when they want to provide alternatives to established parties. Best of luck!

What is this parties position on Game Reform, should it hold a position on it.
We are not going to officially create a platform until there is more members, but I'll tell you my positions on the topic:
1. I oppose the dissolution of the pacific, and any kind of invasion.
2. I support a new constitutional convention.
3. I support the elimination of unnecessary positions.

I don't understand why you're so critical of a new party. New parties make Atlasia more competitive, and therefore more fun. You could say the same thing minus leftist for other parties.

I detest Moderate Heroes as a rule (now, I don't think you are one - your political positions make you out to be a good guy), and have grown to instinctively distrust anyone calling themselves any sort of "third way between the parties", even though in this case the parties are center-left and left.
I dont know what odd instinct is telling you to hate 3rd way parties, but its up to you if you want to listen to it. We, aka I, am open to critiques and comments about the social democrats, but please keep the satire off this thread.

Economics wise, the social democrats are leftists, not socialists like the labor party, but not moderates like the liberal party. Socially, it would be anyone who is libertarian or moderately libertarian.

I people were really serious about playing this game and the effects of the Pacific business economically speaking were to be released with the appropriate degree of realism and then taken with the right amount of seriousness. I would expect Labor would have a lot of explaining to do when it comes to damage inflicted on the poor laboring classes and working people both in the Pacific and around the world. Then this party would have a solid purpose for existing.
The words serious and game should not be in the same sentence.

But you bring up a good point when you say that we should be focused on Atlasia's economy. That will be a goal of the Social Democratic Party in the future, but in order for the party to achieve goals, we must first have members. That is the current goal of the Social Democrats.

I urge any citizen of center left and leftist ideologies to join the Social Democrats. I spoke about our current goal being the expansion of the party, but that is just in the short term. Long term goals of the Social Democrats include economic and game reform that will bring prosperity to EVERY region and EVERY citizen of Atlasia.

Why?

You agree to play chess, you take it seriously by actually playing chess with man instead of trying to play checkers with the chess board and pieces just to "shake things up". It doesn't mean that in your head you actually become a knight on the board.

Seriously, who came up wtih this stupid narrative? It needs to be tortured and killed before it destroys this place for good.
I was half kidding. Read the rest it, that's my serious response.

A brief platform of the Social Democrats:
1. Believe that the right to individual autonomy is important.
2. Outsourcing hurts the economy and corporations should be punished for doing it.
3. Religious and secular charities should have the same resources.
4. As a developed country, it is Atlasia's responsibility to give foreign aid to nations with poverty issues.
5. When we discuss budget cuts, education should never be considered. Our children's future must be protected.
6. LGBT rights must be protected, including the right to marry.
7. Free trade stimulates the world economy and is a good idea.
8. Government programs help Atlasia and should never be eliminated, and only have budget cuts in massive recessions.
9. The Social Democrats are absolutely pro-choice.
10. Cultural institutions that cannot survive independently.
11. Everyone should have access to healthcare.

14. The minimum wage should be raised with inflation.
15. The best way to help drug users is to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana, and to decriminalize other drugs.

17. Violating individual rights are unacceptable, even when fighting terrorism.
18. Corporations are NOT people.
19. The government should provide a safety net for all people, but not all basic needs.

21. Illegal immigrants should have a pathway to citizenship.
22. Union workers should be protected during strikes.
23. Prostitution should not be criminalized.

There are some natural inconsistences, which I have highlighted.

Outsourcing can occur through two ways.
1. Company based in Delaware or Connecticut moves its OH plant to Shanghai to reduce costs.
2. Shanghai Company outcompetes DE/CT company and their OH plant closes down, not to mention the corporate HQ in DE/CT.

You make number one illegal or heavily disincentivize it and do the other other highlighted items, you are going to have a lot of number two, when taken in conjunction with the free trade and opposition to protectionism (which are valid and correct points by the way).
Thank you for taking the time to read it NCYankee. I would like to clarify that I am referring to the first kind of outsourcing you mentioned.

Yes, but punishing companies for the first kind will only cause number two to baloon in size, and there won't be any way to stop that without violating seven and twenty six.
I support free trade because I am opposed to protectionism. Outsourcing would be an exception to this, as it is a loophole to raising the minimum wage, and is an exception. I will post a revised platform.

I believe that memo has already been sent. It's not like there is no ideology between liberal and labor. We are economic leftists, not socialists or moderates, and social libertarians, not anarchists or centrists.
