Maduro is a Putin ally, so once Trump takes over the US foreign policy is going to change big time toward Venezuela. Trump will probably try to have the CIA rig the 2018 elections IN FAVOR of Maduro, though luckily I doubt he'd be able to (the actual CIA would just tell him to f[inks] off if he tried to order that.)
Why would Trump do that? Isn't Trump more likely to tell Putin to stop backing Maduro. After all if Russia becomes an ally of the United States under Trump then Trump will be by far the most powerful person in the relationship.
Russia as a nation is far more powerful than Trump the individual, and remember that the FSB has video of everything Trump has ever done in a Russian hotel room, so think about that in terms of who's holding the power in that relationship. Also Trump can easily be manipulated by flattery whereas Putin can't.
