He loves going back to school in the sense of registering, taking out loans, and such. As for physically going to school....

I don't understand why Bushie can't at least do some volunteer work or something to help ameliorate all these unacceptable resume gaps.

Also, Bushie, since we know how much you love going back to school, find a class that interests you on one of these websites, sign up for it and complete it successfully. They're free and don't require you to leave your house, so no more loans getting heaped on your parents and no excuses for not showing up to class.

He'd just nap and/or watch 16 hours of baseball instead of doing the work.

i still dont know how bushie's parents are affording all of this, especially since only papa bushie works.

bushie, did your parents take out a second mortgage or any kind of loan to help support you?

He told us many seasons ago that they did that.

He likes planning to do something and announce said plan... he's just incapable of following through on them and requires his parents to save him and says it's God's will, which absolves him of any kind of personal responsibility.

I still like Al's theory from a few years ago, that this whole "God's plan" thing is less a way of avoiding responsibility but rather a coping mechanism in the face of constant failure.

There's certainly a lot of truth in that point. Unfortunately, coping mechanisms are often counterproductive, as we've seen. Bushie's never going to be a big time professional. I most likely won't be either. It's often best to know your limitations as well as your talents in order to position yourself as advantageously as possible. In a similar spirit, I get so damn annoyed with the "Everybody needs to go to college, so that everybody can be above average" rhetoric that everybody spouts. Nevermind that going to college is a terrible option for marginal, unmotivated students.

I forgot Bushie's parents took out a second mortgage, but it makes sense since he doesn't consider living off a loan as "debt," which is funny and always fascinated me about him, like when he says "we have ample money to pay for my expenses" and doesn't mention it is financed by increasing their debt. I wouldn't be surprised if things were dire for them right now, given the expense Bushie represents in their lives.

They diid a cash-out refinance?

All joking aside from what you have said in the past it doesn't seem like your parents have the finances to help you out without impacting their own standard of living.

I'm going to pop in here and give a Doctor's appointment update.  I went today while I wasn't working and asked him why I've had to go to the bathroom frequently day and night and also why I'm very fatigued all day and can't get started until well after lunch. It turns out both conditions are related.  The doc gave me a quick check and my prostate is infected.  It's not enlarged at all, but it is infected.  He gave me an antibiotic to take for the next month.  He told me the fatigue was a warning sign that if left untreated, I could have gotten very sick to the point of possible hospitilization.  He said it's not weight-related, more family history-related.  He said to take the med religiously otherwise it could get worse and put me on the shelf for a while.

Thanks for letting me be candid, but several of you have urged me to get it checked out so I thought I owed you all an update out of your concern.

When you're 5'7'' and 300+ pounds, everything is weight related.

Also what do you mean when you say you went when you weren't "working"?

Also, what happened in your Maisha dream? It sounds like you're having a lot of interesting dreams these days, Jeff.

Also, how are your children?

Don't knock Bushie's brother.  The man served 20+ years in the Navy and seems as normal as can be.

I honor his service, but you know what, I'm just as successful as he is and am no less of a man that you seem to have implied.

I don't know why they keep posting in the Update thread.  It's obviously clear that I have stopped posting in that thread.  Now, they're just mocking me by talking to themselves.
