Still, is there any truth to their assertion other IA polls don't sample ptoential crossover indies and Dem caucus voters?

Caucuses are way too much time and effort for there to be more than a handful of crossover voters. Even in primaries, where your only duty is to vote and then leave (so no more than a ten-minute commitment), crossover voting is very small when allowed. In caucuses, where you have to be there for hours and do all sorts of things, no one crosses over.
