He's said he won't run again.

Which presumably means he refuses to resign his seat, drawing his pay til 2015 and refusing the SNP a prime by-election pickup opportunity.

Joyce has apparently jumped before he was pushed resigned from the Labour party:

He still seems to be intending to stay on as an MP.  The Commons could, I believe, vote to expel him, but that hasn't been done since 1954.
