I usually don't like the constant 'nice guy ff Smiley' answers on literally everyone, but I agree with Human on this one.

The best posters are always the ones with 50-50 favorabilities. Great to see that trend continue! Smiley

Unapologetically racist, so there's that. Horrifying politics even if he's nice.

I do wish we all would publicly air our grievances instead of silently checking off the HP option. I just tend not to vote unless the person is exceptionally terrible.

Wait, what caused people to change their vote from FF to HP?  I don't recall any real switch in anything he's believed recently.

Honestly, I don't mind being underwater in my Atlas "approval rating". If I only posted truths universally acknowledged, I would not be saying anything worth posting.

Agreed; a general rule of thumb is that on average, liberals are more tolerant of alternative lifestyles, but conservatives are more tolerant of alternative beliefs.  That, combined with the fact that this forum leans to the left (especially with regard to social issues), means that someone who is vocal about traditionalist views is going to get some backlash.

My guess is that people were unaware that he is a racist.

Perhaps this forum is an unrepresentative sample. Tongue  But still, someone would be far more likely to have their car get keyed with a Trump bumper sticker than with a Hillary/Bernie one (of course, bumper stickers are terrible and should not be used for any reason, but that's a different story...).  Also, compare Liberty University's willingness to invite Bernie Sanders to speak at their university vs. the strong pushback by students in many other universities when conservative speakers like Condeleeza Rice get to speak.

My point is that liberals tend to view conservative beliefs as intolerant and thus not worthy of toleration themselves.  I'm not saying all liberals do that, just that it's more prevalent on average than among conservatives.

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure someone who speaks in favor of gun control if in a rural community in Wyoming, or says that Obama is a great President in certain places of the Deep South, or that people like Kim Davis should shut up and do their damn job in the middle of Oklahoma, etc. might run into trouble.
