Back from the ongoing count - computer glitches galore, masses of spoilt papers. It's a ----ing shambles and an insult to democracy.

Spoilt papers were expected in the STV council vote, but not in the Holyrood vote where nothing has changed.

My result not in, won't be in for hours. Unhappy, disgruntled and ashamed.

It was actually anticipated; they piled resources into Airdrie as a result. But a blow none the less.

The strangeness continues; SNP may have won Fife Central

Theres a possible 'Dorset South' sensation in this election.

May I add re Dumfries, not being partisan, but Dumfries town has swung strongly behind Labour - it happened in 2005 when they managed to retain the Galloway seat it is located in.

That was perhaps too obvious for ourselves to notice.

Using Al's colouring, there are lots of 'pink' Labour seats...but they are still Labour Smiley Big swings against them, 12% for example in East Lothian, where they can afford to loose votes.

Whoever ran the Labour campaign at that sort of level, even if Labour loses, deserves a medal...

Won't be Jack; he wasn't allowed to. It was wrestled from him by central office for good or for ill.

'100,000 votes may be discounted' - say BBC.

Disgusting.

Talk about unexpected. That was supposed to be a Conservative target!

The Stirling, Fife Central and even Gordon gains cancel out the disspointment in Cumbernauld and Kelvin.

Theres quite a 'north-south' divide happening here...

Christina McKelvie looked gutted to loose Hamilton South; but she's in after the SNP scooped 5 regional seats. She was number 4 and didn't expect to get in.

SSP decimated, Solidarity almost as bad with even Sheridan loosing his seat. A bad night for the far left and a bad night for smaller parties so far.

SNP HOLD Perth and Tayside North

Mid-East and Fife regional result can now commence. Good chance for the smaller parties here; Labour may also pick up a seat on the list due to losses in the constituencies.
