Only a small pop today for me. I have a job interview at 8am tomorrow so I will have to be up at 6am. It is for the janitor job in the offices were my friends mom works. She basically got me the interview. I have been getting better at interviews so hopefully it goes well.

Seriously I'm addicted to pop I have drank over 100 ounces of it today. I drink like at least 300 oz a week if not more. I think I'm addicted it is so tasty. I hate diet pop and would rather drink water. I would lose like 20+ pounds if I stopped drinking it and would not feel so bad. I tried to just buy a smaller one but that didn't work the two liter is only 1.19 plus .10 deposit right now very cheap. I hate to think of how much I spend on pop. I should tell them not to sell me pop. Ugh I need to stop drinking pop. They need support groups for excessive pop drinkers. I considered switching to beer because I won't drink nearly as much like only two beers but beer is more expensive.

What the hell is with the .10 deposit for a ******* 2-liter of soda, and what's with the "right now" language?  Does soda in Michigan fluctuate like produce?

No sorry just poor writing skills. The deposit is always .10 cents on all carbonated drinks, regardless of size. The right now refers to the pop being only 1.19 instead of 1.49. The deposit is so bottles and cans don't become liter. Michigan has a 97% recycling rate on containers with a deposit highest in the country. It is kind of a pain to have to return them since you have to stand at the machine and put the cans/bottles in one at a time. I wait until I have like $15-20 dollars worth then take them back it takes at least 20 minutes to return that many. There is a daily limit of $25 dollars a person though.

Also I was told by my mom's friend that there are 8 people applying for 2 jobs. So my odds aren't that great. Also the job is 20 miles away so I hope it pays at least 9 dollars an hour to make it worth my time to drive there.

So I went to the interview this morning, I think it went well. The interview was only about 15 minutes. I was there 10 minutes early.  They will decide Monday. There are two shifts though, 4:30 am to 1 pm and 9:30am to 6 pm. I would take either shift if offered though. The job is 20 miles away but the early shift would have no traffic. It took 30 minutes to get there today for the interview. It pays $9.25 an hour, full time, Monday through Friday.

So I went out with my friend his fiancée and her friends, we went to Dave and Busters. As expected it wasn't very good. Loud and overpriced. I try to be as social as I can and not miss social opportunities so I went. Although I do actually like these people. The place is a arcade filled with games and a bar and restaurant. After 10pm they kick everyone under 21 out so it got significantly less crowded. Didn't eat the food but paid $6.14 for a beer, Bell's Two Hearted Ale, and $6.49 for a Jack and Coke. Spent $12 dollars playing games. I only got 114 tickets not even enough to get some candy that sells for a dollar in a store. I personally would never go there buy myself, and would only go if the group did. Going out is way to expensive.

I basically got the job. I go in Wednesday for for paperwork and drug testing. I will be working the 9:30 to 6pm shift, that is what they gave me. I'm glad I got that shift since the 4:30am shift would be too early. I'm thinking about celebrating with some pop. I will have to cut back on pop big time when I start working.

No pop today because I have to go in tomorrow to do paperwork stuff and a drug test for the job. I found the original copy of my birth certificate since my parents lost my social security card. I have used my drivers license and birth certificate as ID for my last two jobs so it should be ok. I have to remind them I have jury duty next Tuesday though. Hopefully they will not be upset, I may not even start yet if they have to wait more than a few days for the drug test to come back.

Is driving 20 miles to work for $9.25 an hour bad, like to far for the money?

Yeah my car probably gets 25 mpg overall. So it is slightly less than 2 gallons of gas. Gas is $3.55 a gallon right now so about $6.50 a day in gas. That still kind of sucks though, I really need a job though. Thankfully I live at home but I want to move out sometime. And I'm lucky I make $9.25 an hour there are people who make less, how they make it who knows.

Ugh the company who did the drug test can't find the results. My work to be called and said they had not heard back with the results. I called the testing place and they said to call the testing company and they can't find my test. I hope I don't have to retake it. I really wanted to start this week. I have jury duty tomorrow so I can't do anything tomorrow probably.

So I was not selected for a jury yesterday. At 2pm my group of 30 went in to a courtroom for selection. I even got called up and asked questions, I thought I might be on the jury but then the defense objected to me and I got to leave. It was 3pm so I got to go home. The case was a civil case, some lady was suing someone for future loss wages due to being seriously injured in a car accident.

My potential employer called the drug testing company and they found my test but it wasn't tested yet so we are waiting on that, if I pass that they will do the criminal background test then I can start. Hopefully I start Monday.

I have been hitting the pop pretty hard the last 2 weeks, once I start working next week I will have to cut back a lot. I guess I'm drinking a lot of pop while I still can which is bad. I expect a call monday about my start date, I may even go in Monday but I doubt it since I haven't heard from them about a start date. I went to the dentist Friday and they were going to just fill two cavities but the two teeth were so decayed that they decided that they needed crowns because if they just fill it the teeth could break, which happened to a tooth a few weeks ago and that will have to be pulled.

I go in tomorrow for orientation at 8am. I'm only having a small pop today since I will have to wake up at 6:45 tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will work the rest of the week too.

So I went to the orientation and filled out paperwork then watched some videos on safety stuff, I got a quick tour of the janitor employee area. I'm suppose to go in at 7am tomorrow and Friday but 7am probably won't be my regular time. She seemed to want me to work the 4:30am shift but originally she told me 9:30am. I will work either shift though, but prefer the 9:30am shift. She asked me about it and I was unsure because I thought it was settled that I would work the 9:30am shift. I think it will be settled after I'm done training. Should I ask for the 9:30 shift if she was kind of pushing me towards the 4:30am shift? I wonder if you can change shifts if someone quits or something.

Also I was invited to a kids birthday party, my friends kid turns 1 in a week and the party is next Saturday. There will be mostly adults though but the kids 5 cousins will be there most likely. I need to get a gift though.

So I started the new job today, I worked 7am to 3:30pm. I spent the morning vacuuming the floors and using a machine to clean and mop the wood floors. I started to work with this other lady and we took out some trash but soon it is close to lunch so we went back to the break room. We take a 30 minute unpaid lunch but we get 2 paid breaks we take them with our lunch to make it an hour. After lunch we had a meeting on using new equipment but the meeting wasn't until 30 minutes after lunch was over but instead of going back to work for 30 minutes we just hung out in the break room. After the meeting I worked with the lady cleaning offices and checking to make sure the bathrooms were ok. At 3pm apparently everyone goes back to the break room and sits around until 3:30. It wasn't too bad of a day and I think I can do this job well. I only had 2 pops today if you count the Mountain Dew kick start drink pop a total of about 40 oz. although there is a pop machine in the break room that sells 20oz pops for only a dollar.

This weekend I drank a lot of pop. I had got down to 24 oz a day during the week and even had no pop on Tuesday. I had 5 pops 60oz on Friday and 130 oz on Saturday at my friends kid's first birthday party. I was there for 11 hours even though the party was only from 1pm to 5pm. I had 3 pops 36 oz today. I had 330 oz of pop between last Monday and today. I want to get that under 150 oz this week. At work I was given my own area to clean everyday, but I wasn't really trained on what to do each day exactly. I was given a sheet with a list of stuff to do but it is not possible to do all of it everyday. I'm going to have to ask some questions tomorrow and throughout the week.

I have decided to give up pop except on rare occasions, it has been two days since I had pop. I went on a pop binge over the weekend drinking 250 oz of pop in 30 hours. I felt quite bad and my teeth hurt.
