I'll be away this weekend at Lake Norman, NC for the Labor Day weekend. I'll have my phone with me, but otherwise internet will be spotty (and I don't need to mention AT&T will be spotty as well, it's usually a given).

I hope you all have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend!

Hello friends!

I realized this thread was buried way back on page 8, but I want you all to know I won't let the haters get me down! I have proposed a new bill in the Senate that actually divides the federal funds for road construction and maintenance to the regions and let's the legislatures decide how to allocate the funds! I encourage you all to harass your local representative now to support this bill! This is near and dear to me, and some important things ride on its passage!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is eager for the holiday season ahead! I know I am!

Much love and peace this season,

Senator Duke

I want to congratulate the Dirty South Legislature on their passing of the Duke Greenway Act. This important piece of legislation relieves the heavy congestion wreaking avoid on the only two lane road accessing the ever growing Kiawah, Johns and Seabrook Islands and creates hundreds of new jobs for an area with an unemployment rate over 10%.

The act also ensures the 2012 PGA Tournament will come to the area, bringing with it 50,000 tourists who will dine in local restaurants and spend money at local businesses to the tune of several million dollars in revenue.

I want to thank Reps. KS21, Yelnoc, and my old friend Governor PiT for working so closely with me on the project. I hope this starts a trend of more interaction between the federal and regional governments.

The project was worth every penny it cost. I was glad to help out.

I hope everyone turns out to vote starting tonight. I have an LSAT, the flu and a 40 page research paper all in the next few days, so I need all the help I can get. Tongue

I want to thank all my supporters for electing me as their Viceroy. I don't know what the position does, nor did I campaign for the office, but I am proud to see that even after all these years, the citizens of my great region still feel the need to have me back in a regional office of some capacity. Their message was clear, and as soon as I figure out what my job is, I'll do it to the best of my ability. I promise.

I would also like to note that this will in no way take my attention away from the battles being fought in the Senate. It's clear that my importance to the longevity of the game is necessary at both the regional and federal level. And with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face, I bid you good afternoon!

P.S. If anyone can tell me what my new regional job is, its benefits, pay and the like, let me know.

I just introduced legislation to allow the creation of a Do Not PM List. I think it's an easier and more viable alternative to the De-registration acts because it creates less of a legal mess for the Registrar and upcoming elections.

It will be up to the citizens of this country to actually FOLLOW the list, but then again, I doubt the de-registration act would make that big of a deal anyway aside from the headaches it will cause Hans and the Supreme Court.

Thank you all for the endorsements and pointed questions. And please, make donations out to my office. Every dollar counts towards the senator's liquorreelection fund. I'd love the opportunity to remain in office with all my friends. Cheesy

Over the next 48 hours, I have final exams in game theory, macroeconomics, econometrics and on Friday, the history of economic doctrines. Because of these unfortunate events, will be unable to be active but for a very limited time. I'm pleased to report come Friday afternoon, assuming I pass all my classes, I will be a graduate of Wake Forest University with degrees in economics and political science. Hopefully, I'll see a pay increase very soon. Wink
