The script, involving 20something ne'erdowells and their ca-RAZY nights on the town, doesn't take well to Gully's old-fashioned style.  Gully changes the ending, and the movie ends with the whole cast learning that they have AIDS.

Not too different probably from what my original ending would be though it'd be more like this probably:

*Kids sit around house drinking and having a good time*
Particularly depressed character sitting in a corner voiceover: Things are going quite good now. Very good. This is probably the perfect time then to end.
*crowd is oblivious as he pulls out a gun and sticks it in his mouth*
*screen goes black and credits roll*

Though I might also put that at the beginning possibly and have the rest of the movie be an out of order bunch of events that happened before.

I like it actually; perhaps it would be better as a musical?

If written by me it'd be an emo musical however.
