There has been talk recently of Rep. Bobby Scott of the black 3rd Congressional District is considering a Senate run -would anyone here consider voting for him over Tim Kaine?

After almost two decades in Congress, U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott is considering running for the U.S. Senate next year because he believes the House has become so divisive there's little room for negotiation or compromise on major issues.

The Newport News Democrat said Friday that he probably won't decide until July. "There's no urgency," he said.

After U.S. Sen. Jim Webb surprised state Democrats by announcing last month that he would not seek a second term, many party members have focused their attention on former Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, who is considering running but has not made a public decision.

I doubt that Scott will actually run. Whatever support he might have among blacks will quickly evaporate when Obama endorses and campaigns for his pal, Kaine.

I can't stand Scott.  Hopefully he won't even subject us to a candidacy.

Not going to happen, Scott is just taking a rare moment to be in the spotlight. Kaine will be unopposed in the primaey, assuming he runs.

That's a rather harsh reaction.  Why can't you stand him?

I am not fond of his foreign policy or gun control votes, along with his opposition to a line item veto, and other votes.

Kaine, because he's the one who can win against Allen.
