And the Senate in 2000 oddly enough apparently adopted a resolution which reminds us of these worthies:

Robert Taft (not one of my personal favorites because he was an isolationist protectionist but whatever)
Robert LaFollette
Robert Wagner


I definitely give Robert Wagner a lot of credit for trying to pass anti lynching legislation.  Also, his work to address unfair labor practices is very notable.  I can certainly see him being considered one of the great senators.
