No, Austria. Why ? 6$ is even cheap. In Germany it´s 7$ and in the UK it´s 8$ or something like this. Wait for the UK members to tell you the figure ...Smiley

Prices in the UK in general are a joke.  I don't know how half of you Brits make it!  $8/gallon for gas, ridiculously overpriced real estate... it just doesn't seem worth it to pay so much just to live in such a beautiful climate Wink

Gas prices here were at $3.12 a few days ago, but have since climbed to $3.19.  I predict at least $3.50 shortly after Memorial Day.

Gas has increased in price here lately.  We were down to $2.80 for a while, before it hit $2.89, then $2.99 10 days ago, $3.09 5 days ago, and now it was up to $3.19 today.

I am praying daily that we don't have another Katrina this year.  (Of course, that's an exaggerating.  But I am fervently hoping we don't have another Katrina).

Last week I was down in Orlando, and have two separate prices to list:

Gas station #1:  $2.74
Gas station #2:  $4.39!!!!!

If you are wondering, Gas Station #2 was right next to the airport where you had to return the rental cars.  If you return the car with less than a full tank, they charge you $6.00/gallon.  Gotta love it!

Hell, I'd just keep right on filling past the automatic "stop" until fuel was almost spilling out of hte car and then drive it to the airport.

Gas has been falling in price here now and we are at $2.889/gallon.  I really think the oil market is going through menopause right now.

$2.59/gallon here.  It was recently brought up in a great editorial in the Star Tribune that support for a gas tax hike is 50/50.  Some people can't fathom an extra 10 cents per gallon going to fix roads and bridges... even though, which was rightly brought up, that gas prices in the past year have fluctuated anywhere from $1.90 to $3.33.

$3.40/gallon

We used to be above the national average all the time... oh well, I'm not complaining.

I saw $3.75/gallon today.

Our gas has ethanol in it and has for quite a long time.  I think right now it's 10% but will go up to 30% by 2015 I think.

I'd rather get my gas from some joe's corn field than from Saudi Arabia and Iran.. so it's not horrible news.

The $9 a gallon gas inevitably changes the mindset of the driver. They drive much smaller, more fuel-efficient cars and drive less. If you look at the numerous statistics, America consumes the most gas per capita and our economy is much more based on fuel-driven semi's.

Take a look at Italy and Europe in general. I'd say 95% of these people drive a car smaller than my already small Honda Accord. They're much more fuel efficient. However, like I said, Italians have the highest amount of cars per person in the world or they're at least high up there. They drive fuel efficient cars. The price is still $9 a gallon. It ought to be much cheaper, wouldn't you say?
Italy seems to have ridiculously high taxes on things for the services that they provide.  they're like the California of Europe.

In Germany and Austria for the most part, gas was expensive (though still not $9/gallon).. but you didn't need a car to live there.  Between buses, subways, streetcars, and train travel, there wasn't a need.

So if you can do 75% of your errands without a car... $9/gallon doesn't seem nearly as bad.  Especially if it means your country won't collapse when a barrel of oil triples in price over a short period of time.

$3.49/gallon.  I can safely say I have yet to pay $4.00/gallon for gas.  The most it was here was $3.999/gallon

$3.09 translates to 81 cents per liter.

When I was in Austria in '06 it was 98 cents/liter for diesel and €1,16 for regular unleaded.  So even with these "painful" prices, it is still cheaper here...

So that's $3.75 Canadian for a gallon... or about $3.45/gallon American.

It's $2.59 here...  last Friday gas fell from $2.99 in the morning to $2.84 by mid-day and by Saturday night it was at $2.67.

So how long do you reckon it will be until the first idiots start proposing a gas tax holiday?

I can see it now.  John Boehner will stand all tall and proud demanding relief by proposing the holiday... which, if passed, will mean we'll never see a gas tax again... and our roads will crumble.

As for ethanol in Minnesota... the state mandates E-10.. or 10% ethanol in all gasoline with a move to E-20 scheduled for 2013.  MN also has the largest network of E-85 stations in the U.S.

While ethanol has recently fallen out of favor by environmentalists because of increased crop prices leading to increased land use for corn, the boost in prices have been great for Minnesota farmers who have seen their incomes rise substantially in the past 10 years as a result.  While incomes and job growth in the Twin Cities has stagnated and declined in the past decade, job growth and income growth was significantly higher in "outstate" Minnesota.  We've also been lucky in having avoided serious drought or other inclement weather, giving us record yields while the world food supply suffers from price shocks caused by bad weather.

Ethanol obviously is not the future of car fuels... but it will provide a domestic source of clean burning fuel that can reduce our dependence on foreign oil and can be produced with domestic, clean energy (if we have the foresight to do so).

Anyway.. gas here is $3.39/gallon.  That's €0,90 (I don't figure in the exchange rate since USD $1 is the same to an American consumer as EUR €1 is to a European consumer.

It might be mixed and unlabeled. I just know we don't have every gas station advertising 10% ethonol gas at a higher octane but cheaper price like basically everywhere in South Dakota and Iowa.

When there is no choice... there is no reason to advertise any difference.

From ehow.com

Minnesota is a front runner in the move to mix ethanol with gasoline. Drivers in Minnesota have been buying E10 for several years because it was the first state to introduce ethanol at gas stations. Legislation in 2005 mandated a move to E20, gasoline with a 20-percent mixture of ethanol, by 2013, pending federal approval.

Ethanol also is a part of the state's financial health, providing more than 5,000 jobs in 14 ethanol plants and contributing $1.3 billion to the state economy, according to the New Rules Project website.

In Missouri, as well as Minnesota, it is not required to label gas pumps where E10 is dispensed. However, many gas stations still label the pumps regardless of state requirements.
