Call the flipping race, dammit!

Hopefully Obama wakes up and smells the coffee and hopefully the Democrats get competent, for a change.

You might as well hope that Obama buys you a pony. It's about as likely.

True. Carlos Lacerda was more likely to support Vargas than Obama-Democrats are of being competent.

Ok, now I am getting convinced. Brown seems to be pulling it.

Though, an interesting sideline: have you noticed the Western part of the state?

Yes - it's called the Berkshires.  Fascinating class voting patterns but pretty Democratic (even with Coakley)

There are a LOT of Brown towns that haven't even begun to report.  I mean, my god, the most Republican part of the most Republican county is still out.

What are you referring to specifically for those of us who don't have a map of MA memorized? Tongue

I guess somewhere in Plymouth County.

Ok, that's cool, but inferring that from the precinct results is stupid and anecdotal turnout reports suck.  I'm 19 and I've watched politics long enough to know that.

I'm relaying a report on Black turnout.  Roll Eyes

Boston 37% in, C at 60.7%.  There are additional reports of lower turnout there.

Dean: "There's no way of saying from Burlington, VT" (talking of results from Boston).

Yes, there is. There's a way of saying that from Kotlas, Russia.

Yes - it's called the Berkshires.  Fascinating class voting patterns but pretty Democratic (even with Coakley)

Remember, it's immediately south of VT, with similar demographics.

I don't think that was ever in question.

Exactly, which is why this will be an incredibly easy pick-up in 2012... as long as the candidate doesn't go on vacation.

Other than Belmont which I know Brown is short of his pvi by 3%, how many other towns is Brown short in?  He is ahead of his PVI in  Boston at the moment by 3%, with about half the vote in.  Does a 7% Brown margin sound reasonable, assuming marginally lighter turnout in Dem areas?

Brown is on course to beat McCain slightly in total number of votes, while Coakley gets only 1/2 of Obama's.
