McCain nearly won an outright majority in the 2000 NH primary. I wouldn't count him out. His presence could be a serious problem for Romney.

And don't forget how popular McCain is among independents. If the Republicans nominate McCain states like Michigan and Pennsylvania could easily be in play. I can't think of a single Republican who would be a more intimidating general election opponent for Obama.
