Certainly not condoning his behavior, but he definitely could have done much worse as far as members of Congress are concerned...

Instructions and important information

This referendum will last for exactly 72 hours beginning at 12:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Friday 17 May and ending at 12:00 AM on Monday 20 May. All votes cast outside of this period will be counted invalid.

Ballot instructions
1. Please vote either Aye, Nay, or Abstain on the question provided. Abstentions will not affect the results.

2. You are permitted, but not advised, to edit your ballot within 20 minutes of posting it in this thread. Editing your ballot more than 20 minutes after posting it in this voting booth, or deleting your ballot at any time (even if you re-vote), will cause it to be counted invalid.

4. It is a crime against the Republic of Atlasia to a) delete your ballot after the voting period is closed and before the results are certified or delete your ballot after the 20 minute edit period and revote and/or b) intimidate or attempt to place undue pressure on a voter to delete their ballot as outlined in part a or invalidate their ballot.

When you fight Republicans using their own corrosive tools, they win.

Was Rep. Crockett justified in hitting back at Rep. Greene?  Absolutely. Rep. Greene has done plenty that deserves criticism - whether it's her performative stupidity, her atrocious personal conduct, the horrible things she's said, etc. But going after her for her looks legitimizes this sort of pettiness, and lowers the already low level of discourse in our government.

Or to quote a very old piece of folk wisdom,  "What’s the sense of wrestling with a pig? You both get all over muddy . . . and the pig likes it.'”

Yeah, this. While I don't fully blame Crockett, she would have come off as far classier and more sympathetic if she had simply taken the high road and ignored Greene's comments...like come on, it's literally one of the most unserious and deplorable members of Congress. Don't feed the troll, keep doing what you're doing - she's best left ignored.

But the conventional wisdom is that Trump is going to overperform his polls, so Nate's not even being consistent anymore...

This is an old tweet, I'm pointing out that 2024 Nate Silver is arguing against 2017 Nate Silver.

I'm actually not sure if the conventional wisdom is that Trump will overperform his polls because he has twice before, or if he will underperform his polls because pollsters are overcompensating after the last 2 elections. In any case, I think Nate's "rule" is a rule of thumb at best. A more likely than not thing.

Kyle is married to Krystal Ball so his show probably gets subsidized by her’s .
Lmao, is that true? That should end all his credibility right there.

Yeah, they do videos together often. I know Kyle way more than I know Krystal, but what I've seen from her just from watching Secular Talk, she seems alright. I should probably get to know more about her before I made a definitive statement on her though.

EDIT
yeah for example here's a video of them at home together doing a youtube video for Kyle's channel

She ran a scam PAC and after paying herself most of the money she started making YouTube videos with an Indian right-winger about how people on the left should stay home and not vote so that Republicans can win.

I think she was also one of the first people to push the fake rape allegation against Biden to help Trump get elected back in 2020. I'd be shocked if the Republican Party didn't fund her.

His point about polling missing in the opposite direction of conventional wisdom is nonscientific garbage.
